What is Sneakies, exactly?

A team match-play golf game and the scorekeeper that runs it. Two teams of two play the same round they were going to play anyway. Sneakies handles net scoring off everyone's handicap, tracks the side action hole by hole, and keeps a running ledger of who owes what.

Do I need four players?

2-vs-2 is what the game is built around and how it plays best. Three players with one carrying a ghost partner works, as does 1-vs-1 — you just lose the Low Total line, since there is nothing to add together.

Does everybody need the app?

Accepted Answer

No. One person keeps score. Anyone in the group with the app follows the same live card and can drop notes and photos; anyone without it can be added as a guest and still gets texted the link to watch the match.

How do handicaps work?

Enter each player's handicap at setup and Sneakies allocates strokes off the course's own hole handicap rotation — one stroke on the holes at or under your number, a second on the hardest holes if you play above 18. Net scores are computed from there, automatically, every hole.

What is a Bridge?

A press, and only the team that is down in points can call it. Call it before the hole is played and every point on that hole pays double — team points and action points alike. If the bridging team then plays the hole badly, the team that got bridged can answer with a Re-Bridge and take it to quadruple. One bridged hole late in a round can undo the whole front nine.

What's the difference between a Greenie and a Prox?

A Greenie is a green in regulation — one point, any hole, and more than one player can have one. A Prox is closest to the pin of everyone who hit that green in regulation: two points, one per hole, and it replaces that player's own Greenie. Two for the Prox, one for the green. Everyone else keeps theirs.

Why is it called a Sneakie?

Because it's the point nobody sees coming. Get it up and down for par — a save the rest of the group barely registers. Before the app, that point got missed roughly every time. Now it doesn't.

What happens when a hole ties?

Low Ball and Low Total each push independently — no points either way. Possession does not move, so whichever team won the previous hole Keeps it for a point and holds the momentum going to the next tee.

Can I really keep score by talking to it?

Yes. Julie is a voice scorekeeper built into the app. Tell her the scores, the specials, and whether anyone bridged, and she fills in the card and locks the hole — she reads the round back to you and pushes back if something looks wrong, like a birdie with no special tagged.

When the last hole closes, Sneakies writes the round up — the swing holes, the lead changes, who quietly carried their partner, the exact hole where it went sideways. It lands on the results screen before you reach the parking lot. Made for the group chat.

Collectible ball markers, custom for your game. To be clear: these are not real markers, they're digital — think of them as NFTs, back when a JPEG bought a house. They could be worth something. Yes — Sneakies is live on both the App Store and Google Play. A foursome can mix iPhones and Androids freely; everyone sees the same live card.

No. Sneakies is a scorekeeper. It counts points and tracks what a point is worth if your group decided it was worth something, but it never touches money — no deposits, no payouts, no processing. Whatever gets settled, gets settled between friends after the round, exactly like it always has.

How does the stake work?

You set a dollar value per point when you create the match, and optionally a ceiling. The scorekeeper can move the stake hole by hole within those bounds. The app multiplies the point differential by the stake and shows the running balance — who owes whom, live.
