What is Sneakies?

A two-team golf game and the scorekeeper that runs it. You play the round you were going to play anyway. Every hole hands out points, and the app keeps the net scores, the points and the money straight, hole by hole.

What do I actually have to do during a round?

Play golf and call your specials out loud: Greenie, Prox, Sneaky, Poley and Sandie. Whoever keeps score taps them in. The app does everything else: net scores, Low Ball, Low Total, birdies, who won the hole and every dollar. If your team is down, you can also call a Bridge.

How many players do I need?

Two against two is the classic, and one against one works too. The two teams just have to be the same size.

Does everybody need the app?

Accepted Answer

No. One person keeps score. Anyone in the group with the app follows the same live card and can add notes and photos. Anyone else can follow the match from its link.

How do handicaps work?

Enter each player's handicap when you set up the match. Sneakies gives strokes on the hardest holes and works out every net score, every hole, automatically.

Who wins a hole?

The team that scores more points on it: Low Ball, Low Total, specials and birdies all count. Win it off the other team and you add a Take, worth 2. Win it again and you add a Keep, worth 1. Tie a hole and whoever won the last one keeps it.

What is a Bridge?

A press, and only the team that is down in points can call it. The team that is ahead tees off first. The team that is down watches those tee shots, then decides — before they hit — whether to bridge that hole, and that hole only. Every point on a bridged hole pays double, team points and action points alike. If the bridging team then sprays one, the team that got bridged can answer with a Re-Bridge and take it to quadruple. One bridged hole late in a round can undo the whole front nine.

What's the difference between a Greenie and a Prox?

A Greenie is a green in regulation — one point, any hole, and more than one player can have one. A Prox is closest to the pin of everyone who hit that green in regulation: two points, one per hole, and it replaces that player's own Greenie. Two for the Prox, one for the green. Everyone else keeps theirs.

What is a Sneaky?

Missing the green and still making par: up and down, a real par, strokes don't count. It's the point nobody sees coming, and before the app it got missed almost every time.

What happens when a hole ties?

Low Ball and Low Total each push on their own, so nobody gets them. If the points on the hole come out even, whichever team won the previous hole Keeps it for a point.

Can I really keep score by talking to it?

Yes. Julie is a voice scorekeeper built into the app. Tell her the scores, the specials, and whether anyone bridged, and she fills in the card and locks the hole — she reads the round back to you and pushes back if something looks wrong, like a birdie with no special tagged.

What is the match recap?

When the last hole closes, Sneakies writes the round up: the swing holes, the lead changes, who carried their partner, the hole where it went sideways. It lands on the results screen before you reach the parking lot.

Collectible ball markers, custom for your game. To be clear: these are not real markers, they're digital — think of them as NFTs, back when a JPEG bought a house. They could be worth something. They could be worth nothing. Either way you're supporting Sneakies, which helps us grow the game. Pin your favourite to your profile and it shows up next to your name in the clubhouse feed.

Is there an Android version?

Yes. Sneakies is on both the App Store and Google Play. A group can mix iPhones and Androids freely; everyone sees the same live card.

Is Sneakies gambling?

Accepted Answer

No. Sneakies is a scorekeeper. It counts points and tracks what a point is worth if your group decided it was worth something, but it never touches money: no deposits, no payouts, no processing. Whatever gets settled, gets settled between friends after the round.

How does the stake work?

You set a dollar value per point when you create the match: a starting stake and, unless you go with no cap, a ceiling. During the round the stake can go up, hole by hole, anywhere between the two, but never below where you started. Usually it is the team that is down asking for it, and the scorekeeper enters it. The app multiplies the point difference by the stake and shows who owes whom, live.

Nothing. Download it, run your Saturday game, keep every feature. Ball markers are the only thing you can spend money on, and they are entirely cosmetic — buying one does not win you a hole.
